Kerala CM asks Karnataka government to ensure safety

Citing a robbery on an inter-state bus in Karnataka this morning, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan today asked the neighbouring state to ensure the safety of passengers.
Vijayan's statement came in thewake of robbery of passengers on board a Kerala State Transport Corporation bus bound for Bengaluru from Kozhikode by a gang at Channapatti Karnataka in the early hours.
He said the Karnataka government should take stern action against the culprits, an official release said here.
Vijayan said police also should take necessary preventive measures at inter-state boundaries to avoid recurrence of such incidents in future.
Kerala Director General of Police Loknath Behra spoke to his Karnataka counterpart on the matter.
According to reports, two-wheeler borne unidentified persons barged into the bus when it stopped at Channapatti and decamped with gold jewellery and cash of some passengers.
