Chennithala today said here that the list of the party's new office bearers will be fully ready for the Congress high command's approval in a week time.

The KPCC president, along with Chandy, met Congress President Sonia Gandhi and AICC General Secretary in-charge Madhusudan Mistry to inform them about the progress made in the the revamp exercise which would be based on 'one man one post' policy.

Chennithala, a party legislator whose name was suggested for the Chief Minister's post after the Kerala Assembly polls last year, will continue as the party's state unit chief, Congress sources said.

The 'one man one post' policy, however, will be applicable for all other people who have been holding party positions and parliamentary responsibilities simultaneously, they said.

The executive of the Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) and 14 district committees will be completely restructured, they said.

"Discussions are in final stage. One more sitting is needed. We have almost finalised the list," Chennithala told reporters after the meeting.

The party sources said that the two powerful factions headed by Chandy and Chennithala have reached a broad understanding with each groups getting posts of seven of the 14 district committees.

Youth and women will be given adequate representation in the first major revamp since Chennithala became the state Congress chief after the exit of veteran leader K Karunakaran and his son K Muraleedharan from the party in 2005. The father-son duo had later returned to the party fold.
