"All treatment expenses of Anas will be met by the government and he will be given necessary assistance for continuation of his further studies," Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told reporters after a cabinet meeting here today.
The condition of Anas, presently under treatment at the Bangalore military hospital, has improved, but according to doctors treating him, he will be incapacitated for the rest of his life, Chandy said.
Chandy, who met Anas and members of his family as well as doctors treating him during a recent visit to Bangalore, said though free treatment was being provided at the hospital, government had already handed over an amount of Rs two lakh to his family to meet other expenses.
The government also sent two doctors to assess his health condition besides related requirements, he said.
After his treatment in Bangalore, he will be taken to Pune for rehabilitation, Chandy said.
A bullet fired by another cadet hit the ground, rebounded and hit Anas, an undergraduate student of a local college in Kannur district during a training camp.
