Government was ready to discuss the issue in the assembly to arrive at a consensus before submitting its final conclusions to the Centre, Chandy said while replying to a submission.
In his submission, Rosy Augustin (KC-M), a member of ruling UDF, wanted the state to put pressure on Centre to reject the report.
Chandy said the sate had already informed the Centre about the impracticality of the recommendations.
The government was committed to protection of environment and Western ghats, but the yardsticks adopted by the Gadgil Committee while making the report would impose severe restrictions on the human activities in many parts of the state, Chandy said.
All the six states where the Western Ghats pass through had opposed the recommendations, he pointed out.
