Riding on centuries by Paras Dogra (166) and skipper Bipul Sharma (118), Himachal Pradesh posted a massive first-innings total of 517 before reducing Kerala to 61 for four in their second innings on day three of their Group C Ranji Trophy cricket match here today.
Kerala, who were bundled out for 196 in their first essay, are staring at an innings defeat as they trail Himachal Pradesh by 260 runs with just six second-innings wickets in hand.
Resuming on 287 for six, Himachal's two overnight batsmen -- centurion Dogra, who started on 115 and Bipul -- continued to frustrate the Kerala bowling attack with a massive stand of 181 runs for the seventh wicket.
Dogra's innings came off 301 balls, studded with 19 fours and two sixes, while Bipul used 219 deliveries for his 118, that included eight boundaries and three sixes.
In their second innings, Kerala kept losing wickets at regular interval. Opener N Surendran (23) and Sanju Samson (19) tried to put up some resistance but they also lost their wickets by the end of the day.
At stumps, skipper Sachin Baby was on two, while U Manukrishnan was yet to open his account.
