The Federation of the Film Societies of India's Kerala chapter will organise a three-day film festival here from tomorrow, in which six feature films by Adoor and three documentaries on his works will be screened.
"Nizhalkooth", "Vidheyan", "Mathilukal", "Elipathayam", "Anantharam" and "Swayamvaram" will be among his movies to be screened at the Lenin Balavadi here from August 14 to 16, Federation members said.
Documentaries "Images/Reflections" by Girish Kasaravalli, "Bhoomiyude Chuvadurach" by Vipin Vijay, "Lights on Adoor" by Prasanna Ramaswamy, to be screened on these days, would throw light on the life and exemplary filmmaking of the iconic Director.
A large number of people from the film and literary fraternity including eminent writers Sethu and Perumbadavam Sreedharan, director Kamal and actor Madhu, are expected to take part in another felicitation programme at Ganesham open air auditorium here on August 17.

He has scripted and directed 11 feature films and about 30 shorts and documentaries and majority of them had won awards and honours at the state, national and international levels. "Swayamvaram", "Kathapurushan", "Kodiyettam", "Elipathayam", "Vidheyan", "Mathilukal", "Oru Peunnum Randanum" are among his hit films.
His debut feature film, "Swayamvaram", won the National Awards for best film, best director, best cameraman and best actress.
In 2006, he received the Dada Saheb Phalke Award, the country's highest national honour for lifetime achievement in cinema.
