Kerala will gain from GST, says official

Kerala stands to gain from the Goods and Services Tax (GST) but an independent dispute redressal mechanism is needed for the implementation of the tax reform, a senior state government official said.
Special Secretary In-charge (Taxes) V K Baby said GST will integrate the country economically.
"It will be a win-win situation for everybody, from manufacturers to exporters and sellers. As a consumer state, Kerala can gain more from this GST," he said.
He was speaking after inaugurating a one-day interactive workshop on 'GST and its Implications' organised here by FICCI in association with the Union Ministry of Finance.
He, however, said an "independent dispute redressal mechanism is needed while implementing GST."

Ravneet Singh Khurana, Deputy Commissioner-Central Board of Excise and Customs, said GST will create a common national market.
"GST will create a common national market to helpfree flow of goods," he said.
