A Keralite NRI businessman today pledged Rs one crore to the fourth edition of the Kochi- Muziris Biennale, which gets underway here on December 12.
The Memorandum of Understanding on this was inked here today by Kochi Biennale Foundation (KBF) President Bose Krishnamachari and Managing Director, Lulu Financial Group, Adeeb Ahamed, a KBF release said.
Ahamed said he was delighted to have this opportunity to support the Kochi-Muziris Biennale.
"Kochi Biennale is not just about art and artists. It is a commitment towards bridging art and society and make artistic expressions more accessible, easier to understand, and closer to the community over the years," the release quoted him as having said.
Krishnamachari said it was a vital step in the sustenance and flourishing of the "Peoples Biennale".
"I hugely welcome and appreciate Ahamed's gesture, and look forward to our new partnership with great enthusiasm," Krishnamachari said.
