At the beginning of her career, the 'Tik Tok' hitmaker penned a handful of songs for other artists, including Britney Spears and The Veronicas and she was often shocked when she received pay cheques for her creative efforts, reported Hollywood Life.
"It was like USD 1 and 63 cents for a song I wrote - I think for Miley Cyrus. It was an embarrassingly tiny amount. But I never cashed it and it's on a bulletin board in my house," she said.
It was a rewarding experience, however, because Kesha had a blast working with Cyrus.
"Writing for Miley was fun 'cause I think she's funny. I met her and I liked her vibe, so I was like, 'OK, I'll write, like, a party song for a younger crowd,'" Kesha added.
