Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu today directed officials to enquire into the reported lapse in security and breach of protocol during the recent visit of Union Minister of State Mansukh L Mandaviya to the state.
Reportedly while on his journey to Ziro along with officials and local leaders on September 13 the pilot vehicle leading the VIP's convoy developed technical snag and all vehicles of the entourage including the VIP's had driven into a garage and spent quite some time to rectify the defect.
Further, during the return journey from Ziro the Union Minister's vehicle ran out of fuel.
In an urgent note to Chief Secretary Ramesh Negi today, Khandu observed that such security lapses and breach of protocol during the visit of a Union Minister has created a bad impression of the state government, its hospitality and protocol arrangements, an official release informed.
"These lapses cannot be tolerated at any cost and the officers and officials involved should be taken to task," he said.
The Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to enquire into the entire matter and take stringent action against officials found responsible for the "unsavory episodes".
Mandaviya, the MoS for Road Transport, Highways and Shipping and, Chemicals and Fertilizers was on a two-day visit to the state and had launched Jan Aushadhi Scheme for the state on September 12.
