Khattar announces financial assistance for Haryana villages

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced that villages in the state will get financial assistance upto Rs 2 crore for development purposes under the Vidhayak Adarsh Gram Yojana.
Also, monthly honorarium will be given to retired principals, lecturers and other employees of non-government aided colleges, Khattar said on the concluding day of the budget session in the state Assembly here.
Referring to the Vidhayak Adarsh Gram Yojna, he said that Rs 50 lakh per year would be given for development of villages having a population of less than 5,000 and Rs 1 crore per year to those with population between 5,000 and 10,000.

In case the population of a village exceeds 10,000, the assistance would be Rs 2 crore every year. This scheme would be continued till 2019, he said.
He also announced the decision to open Shri Mata Mansa Devi All India Institute of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy in Panchkula, and 500 new vacancies of traffic police each in Gurgaon and Faridabad.
The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences under the Union Ministry of Ayush has approved the proposal to open institute in Panchkula.

This institute would be developed on the pattern of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Delhi, Khattar said.

"It will not only benefit the people of the state but also cater to the needs of people in north India. The Haryana government has taken possession of the land for opening the institute. The Union Ministry has also accepted the demand of the state government for nomination of two members on the board of this institute by the Mata Mansa Devi Shrine Board," he said.
The monthly honorarium would be given to those principals, lecturers and other employees of non-government aided colleges who had retired between January 1, 1988 and May 10, 1998 and were not getting pension.
The retired principals would get monthly honorarium of Rs 30,000 whereas Rs 25,000 per month would be given to retired lecturers.

While Rs 11,000 per month would be given to class-III employees of such colleges, Rs 6,000 per month would be paid to class IV staff.
