Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced a slew of incentives for the people of Kalanwali Assembly constituency, including the status of sub-division and development works worth Rs 150 crore.
Besides, Sirsa bypass would be constructed at a cost of Rs 450 crore, for which approval has been given by Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari, he said.
A medical college would be set up in Jind district, announced Khattar while speaking at a public meeting at Kalanwali which falls under Sirsa, considered to be a stronghold of the Chautala family.
Khattar said though the local MLA did not belong to BJP, the present government has given equal importance to Kalanwali in terms of development as other constituencies in the state.
Greeting the people on the occasion of Janmashtami, he said during the 22-month tenure of the present BJP government, it has executed development works worth Rs 56 crore in the Kalanwali Assembly constituency.
Of these, projects to the tune of Rs 24 crore were inaugurated and foundation stones of others worth Rs 16 crore had been laid today, he said.
Attacking Opposition parties leaders, he said, "they are in the habit of criticising the government on every matter. Since they have nothing to criticise nowadays, they have become unemployed. So much so, these leaders even criticised the warm welcome accorded by the state government to the Olympic medal-winner Sakshi Malik yesterday".
Terming the previous Congress government led by former Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, as "a dark period in the field of education", Khattar said "the quality of education declined during this period and even students who failed were allowed to pass Classes VIII and IX.
