Khurana, Bawne hit tons on a good last day for Maharashtra

Chirag Khurana hit a career-best 130 and Ankit Bawne hit an unbeaten 100 as Maharashtra scored an impressive 429 for three in their second innings following on but Gujarat walked away with three points in the drawn Group B Ranji Trophy cricket contest, here today.
Maharashtra began their second innings at 131 for no loss but openers Swapnil Gugale (88) and Harshad Khadiwale (77) departed without adding much to their overnight totals.
Kedar Jadhav (25) also got a start but he also could not make it big but Khurana and Bawne made it a heavy day for the Gujarat bowlers by raising an unbeaten 192-run stand for the fourth wicket.
Khurana's 130 came off 218 balls and he hit 13 boundaries in his knock while Bawne's 11th first class century came off 174 balls and had 10 shots to the fence in it.
However, despite a bad day in field, Gujarat earned three points from the contest, courtesy their first innings lead.
