Yadav presented the award to 97-year-old Singh at his Sujan Singh Park residence here in a closed door brief ceremony. Yadav presented him a shawl along with a citation.
The annual award has been instituted by All-India Minorities Forum. It is awarded to people from the minority communities for furthering the cause of national integration and mutual understanding.
"I am glad that I gave away the award to Khushwant Singh," Yadav later told reporters.
