Kim Cattrall to play US President in Swedish TV series

Actress Kim Cattrall has been cast as the US president in a new Swedish TV drama.
The "Sex and the City" star will appear in the hit crime series Modus, adapted from Norwegian lawyer Anne Holt's book Frukta Inte.
According to Deadline, an official visit to Stockholm leads to "devastating consequences" for Cattrall's character.
The upcoming second season of the drama is currently shooting and will hit TV screens this autumn (17). The series, which airs throughout Scandivania and in Canada, Australia, France, and Japan, premiered in 2015.
The 60-year-old actress is no stranger to international TV - she also produces 1featured in the BBC's "The Witness for the Prosecution."
She becomes the latest actress to portray the leader of the free world on TV - Geena Davis played President Mackenzie Allen in US TV series "Commander in Chief", Cherry Jones was President Allison Taylor in "24"and spin-off TV film "24: Redemption", and Patricia Wettig portrayed President Caroline Reynolds in "Prison Break.
