Kin of man killed in Angola moves court against employers

The family of an Indian employee killed in an explosion in Angola, has moved a petition in a local court against his employers for failing to clear pending dues.
Deceased Surya Dev Yadav's wife yesterday appealed in the court that the employers in Angola have not yet cleared the pending salary and other dues given in such cases of accident.
The counsel of his wife, Om Prakash Srivastava said the application has been moved in the court of judicial magistrate.
Yadav was killed on December 1 last year in an explosion in a company in Luanda on November 26 where he was employed as gas cutter, but the company had asked the family around Rs 16 lakh to send his body back to the country.
The free transportation of the body was made possible following the efforts Ministry of External Affairs and Indian Embassy at Angola.
His family members had sought the help of the President, Prime Minister, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and the district magistrate to get the body which arrived here on Janaury 25 and the last rites were performed the next day.
The wife Savitri Devi alleged that though documents like passport were sent with the body, the dues have not been cleared nor has anything been communicated to the family.
She said that she was forced to file an application in the court as a last resort.
