Kinetic launches electric 3-wheeler Kinetic Safar

Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions today forayed into electric vehicles with the launch of an electric three-wheeler 'Kinetic Safar', priced at Rs 1.38 lakh (on road, Delhi).
The company, which is part of Pune-based Kinetic Group, has already bagged an order worth Rs 400 crore from the UP government for supply of 27,000 units of 'Kinetic Safar'.
"The launch of e-three wheeler Kinetic Safar is a sincere effort to provide pollution free yet affordable mode of public transport in the country," Sulajja Firodia Motwani, Founder and CEO, Kinetic Green Energy and Power Solutions, told reporters here.
The company is focusing on bringing green technologies to masses, she added.
Commenting on the order from the UP government, Motwani said: "This order, won the basis of competitive bidding, is for providing 27,000 units amounting to Rs 400 crore."
The order has to be completed within the next one year, she added.

The vehicle, which can go for 115 kms on a single charge, is being manufactured by the company at its Ahmednagar-based facility which has an installed production capacity of 4,000 units per month.
Motwani said the company also plans to come up with an assembling unit in North India in the future.
Commenting on the sales network, Motwani said the company has begun with 15 outlets in Delhi/NCR, UP, Punjab and plans to scale it to 300 dealerships in the next three years.
Kinetic Safar has been approved by Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and meets all government safety norms.
The vehicle, which comes with all steel body, has maximum speed of 25 kms per hour and can carry four passengers plus the driver.
"Besides, Safar also comes with unique gearbox that enables it to climb flyovers as well," Motwani said.
When asked about future product pipeline, Motwani said the company also plans to come up with a e-cart for home deliveries.
"We also plan to come up with e-autos with lithium ion battery for rapid charging," she said.
For Safar, the company has tied up with battery manufacturer Exide.
