As many as 179 relief centres have been set up in areas prone to flooding, an official release said.
A detailed action plan has been prepared highlighting the role of Police, Electricity, Revenue, Fire Service, Civil supplies and Consumer Affairs, Social Welfare and Health authorities.
The plan has been prepared on the basis of experience during disasters in the past, it said.
Toll free numbers, 1070 and 1077, had been set up at the premises of Revenue and Disaster Management department, to respond to any call for help, it added.
