Stating this here, Harcharan Bains, Advisor to the Chief Minister on National Affairs, said here that Chief Minister Parksh Singh Badal was deeply disturbed at the tragic development and the trauma and agonies suffered by Kirpal Singh in Pakistani jail where he was lodged since 1992.
Badal said that lending a helping hand to the family of Kirpal Singh was the moral duty of the state government.
The Chief Minister also assured the family of another life convict Nanak Singh, lodged in Pakistan jail, about ensuring his safety and security.
Badal said the state government was in constant touch with the Ministry of External Affairs with regard to prevailing upon their Pakistan counterpart to secure safe return of Nanak Singh to India immediately.
Badal impressed upon the centre to make use of all political and diplomatic channels for ensuring security and safety of the Nanak Singh so that he could be freed from the jail forthwith.
