The director said he is ready with the script but feels the film needs a lot of preparation and devotion from everyone involved.
"I am waiting for Ranbir to give me dates at least for six months for Kishore Kumar biopic. It's slightly different film and we don't want anything else to come in between. Ranbir is now juggling 'Bombay Velvet' and 'Jagga Jassos'," Basu told PTI on the sidelines of NFDC's Film Bazaar.
"I met them personally and they are very happy. They have full faith in me and Ranbir. They are excited to see the final outcome," he said.
Asked if Anurag is trying to cash in on the famous pairing of Ranbir and Katrina in 'Jagga Jasoos', the filmmaker said Kaif was on his wish list for a while.

"Katrina is very apt for the film. I always wanted to work with her but she has date problems when it comes to my film. I wanted to work with her in my first film and in 'Barfi!' too but I couldn't," he said.
The director said 'Jagga Jasoos' is for his children --Ahana and Ishana -- with wife Tani.
"We just make false claims that the film is for kids. But after watching it, we hardly find anything substantial for kids. Being a father of two daughters, I really struggle to show my daughter a really good film. So, keeping my daughters and the rest of children in mind, I made 'Jagga Jasoos'," he said.
The 'Life in a Metro' star would be returning to direction with 'Jagga Jasoos' after a gap of two years. Basu said he was busy with TV commercials.
