Kishtwar riots generated fresh heat in Lok Sabha today with BJP warning that the situation was fast turning into one similar to 1990, when Pandits were forced to flee Kashmir Valley.
Yogi Adityanath (BJP), who was asked by Speaker Meira Kumar to speak, said the government in Jammu and Kashmir has not woken up to the threat posed by separatist forces.
Charging the state administration with not taking appropriate measures to prevent the outbreak of violence on August 9, he warned that the situation was fast turning into one similar to 1990 when "Hindus and Sikhs were forced to migrate" from the Valley.
Adityanath alleged that Minority Hindus and their religious places are being "selectively targeted" in the state. "Those who perpetrated violence came in a procession. They raised anti-India slogans. The DM and SP were inactive. There is an attempt to take the situation back to 1990."
He alleged that those raising anti-India slogans enjoy protection of the administration.
"An all-party Parliamentary delegation should be sent there. Action should be taken against those involved in the violence," the BJP member said.
