Kitchens, eating joints at Feroze Shah Kotla Stadium de-sealed

The Delhi High Court has ordered de-sealing of all the kitchens and eating joints inside the Feroze Shah Kotla stadium, a day after they were sealed following a fire-related incident during an IPL-7 match on Saturday.
In its order, a bench comprising Justices Badar Durrez Ahmed and Siddharth Mridul, however, said there should be no kitchen running.
"The premises shall be de-sealed till further orders so that DDCA can clean the entire premises and ensure that there is no kitchen running," the HC order stated.
"The DDCA shall also take immediate steps to see that no untoward incident of fire or any such similar incident takes place and proper storage of materials is maintained. The DDCA shall also indicate the outcome of the inspection of the Fire Department which was to take place today."

All the kitchens and eating joints at the Kotla here were were sealed yesterday by Delhi government's Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) after slapping a show cause notice on Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) for failing to comply with necessary safety measures during Saturday's IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils.
The kitchens and eating joints were sealed by South Delhi Municipal Corporation following directives by the DDMA.
Venue media manager Ravi Jain, on his part, said food was never prepared inside the stadium premises.
"We have always brought food from outside. This has always been the practice, no cooking is done inside the stadium. The food used to come into the stadium in vans and was only served inside," Jain said.
