The kites would be flown between 2.30 PM and 8 PM on the two days.
The theme of the event is 'one sky, one earth, one family.'
A theme kite 'save Nethravati river' against the Yettinahole river diversion project would fly high during the festival, the organisers said in a release here today.
Night kite flying would be the special attraction tomorrow,during which kites would be flown with focus lights onthem.

An estimated two lakh people are expected to witnessthe event.
A total of 14 international kite flying clubs andthree national kite flying clubs involving 30 participantswould participate in the event, the release said.
Foreign flyers from 13 nations,including France,Germany, Netherlands, Australia, United Kingdom, Turkey, Kuwait, Italy, Thailand, Nigeria, Cambodia, Singapore and Ukraine would take part in the festival,besides three national teams from Mumbai, Dahanu (Maharashra), and Hyderabad.
A photographic contest with attractive prizes would also be held to bring out the creative side of the event.
