Producer Vivek Rangachari, who is looking forward to the release of 'The Lunchbox', says having noted filmmaker Karan Johar to present the film will help in garnering audience attention.
'The Lunchbox' will be presented to the audience by Karan Johar and UTV, in association with Dar Motion Pictures and the National Film Development Corporation. It hits the theatres on September 20.
"Having a known name for a project like this definitely helps. We have recently seen the success of 'Ship of Theseus' that was presented by Kiran Rao. Similarly, I feel having Karan on board will help us reach out wider audience. He also has a fan base... There are people looking forward to his movies," Vivek, of Dar Motion Pictures, told PTI.
Directed by Ritesh Batra, the film stars Irrfan Khan, Nimrat Kaur and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead and revolves around a wrong delivery by Mumbai's 'dabbawalas' (lunchbox service) which leads to a relationship.
"Today the scenario is changing and people are ready to accept good films. 'The Lunchbox' is not a typical masala Bollywood film but we are hopeful with the kind of story line it has people will surely love this film," Vivek said.
'The Lunchbox' bagged Critics Week Viewers Choice Award at the 66th Cannes Film Festival in May this year.
