Higgs boson particle was announced in the CERN, the West Bengal government today urged Kolkata Municipal Corporation to name an important road after renowned physicist S N Bose whose theory on particle physics had led to the milestone.
State parliamentary affairs minister Partha Chatterjee
urged KMC mayor Sovan Chatterjee to consider naming an important street or road after Bose who had along with Albert Einstein had formulated the theory of the existence of the mysterious particle in the 1920s.
Earlier, government chief whip Sobhandev Chatterjee raised the issue in the House, saying it was a matter of pride for West Bengal as well as the country that Bose had envisaged the existence of a sub-atomic particle known as Higgs boson or God Particle.
Mayor Chatterjee said that the matter would be seriously looked into by the road renaming committee of KMC.
