'Know your army Mela' organised in Ramban

To educate the students about the 'glorious history' of the army a 'Know your Army Mela' was organised today by the Delta force of the army in the Ramban district in which army equipment and weapons were on display.
"Delta Force organised 'Know Your Army Mela' and equipment display at Government senior secondary school, Batote, in district Ramban", an army spokesman said.
He said that the event was part of the month-long celebration to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of historical victory of Indian Armed Forces over Pakistan in 1965 war.
"The programme was aimed at educating the students and their parents about glorious history of Indian Army", he said.

He said that the event was attended by Major General A S Rawat, General Officer Commanding Delta Force, Bhupinder Kumar deputy commissioner (DC) Doda, Bashir Ahmed Dar DC District Ramban and Jagjit Singh Vice Principal Government Senior Secondary School, Batote, teachers and Sarpanches of the region.
"The stalls of equipment display, dog show, live army band performance and medical care were highlights of the show" he said.
He said that the students of various schools of Batote have shown keen interest in each of the stall.
