Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will address the 11th edition of the high-profile event on January eight while the President will deliver the valedictory address on January nine.
Nearly 2,000 overseas Indians including top businessmen, entrepreneurs and economists will participate in the three-day conclave being organised by Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs.
"The next Pravasi Bhartiya Divas will be held in Kochi. Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy had requested us for holding the event in the state," Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi told reporters.
The Minister said the main theme of the event will be to discuss ways and means to further increase the two-way engagement of the diaspora with the country.
"We will try to further enhance the engagement between the diaspora and the country of their origin," he said.
Ravi said Indians living across the globe including in the US, Australia, New Zealand, Europe and Gulf countries will participate in the mega event.

"I will go to Gulf region to invite people to the event," said Ravi.
The Minister said a special session on issues relating to women will be organised.
Officials said a number of key Union Ministers and Chief Ministers of various states will interact with the diaspora community.
The last Pravasi Bhartiya Divas was held in Jaipur earlier this year.
