Former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda, who was on a three-week provisional bail to get his ailing mother treated at a hospital, today surrendered to a lower court in compliance with a high court order.
The Special CBI Judge, R K Choudhary, sent him to 14 days' judicial remand after Koda surrendered on completion of the duration of the provisional bail.
The high court had on April 15 granted three weeks' provisional bail to Koda with a direction to surrender to the lower court after the bail term was over.
The Lok Sabha member was in judicial custody from November 30, 2009 after being accused of involvement in the multi-crore money laundering, illegal investments and other scams before he got the provisional bail.
