/ --KOHLER co., the leading global manufacturer of kitchen and bath-ware, returned with a special edition of the KOHLER Bold Art event powered by Pecha Kucha on the occasion of International Women's Day on the 8th of March 2018 in Mumbai. Some of the greatest minds in the Arts, Architecture and Design community offered their views on the topic, "Creativity has no glass ceiling".
(Photo: https://mma.prnewswire.com/media/651997/Kohler_Bold_Art_Tisca_ Chopra.jpg ) Hosting some of the most creative people from the field of Architecture and Design, KOHLER India has organized these events for almost 5 years. This time around, in the spirit of Women's day, the event was, in every sense of the word, a 'Women Only' event. From the camera crew to the speakers to the audience, the event was completely run by women. It was the first such event of its kind in India for the A&D community.
Bollywood actress and author Tisca Chopra also expressed her views on the topic in the signature Pecha Kucha format. Other notable speakers included architects Aparna Narasimhan, Kohelika Kohli, Seema Puri, Sonal Sancheti and Nandini Somaya Sampat and Elle Dcor Editorial director Pramiti Madhavji. Pecha Kucha which means "chit chat" , is a unique presentation format in which the speaker shows 20 image-only slides and can speak about them only for 20 seconds each.
The brevity of the format forces the speakers to find creative ways to communicate their views on the topic, which usually initiates an interesting dialogue between the speaker and the audience. Commenting on her experience, Bollywood actress, author and director Tisca Chopra commented,"It was a very interesting experience trying to convey all my thoughts in 20 seconds. I have a tremendous amount of respect for all the speakers who went on stage today. Apart from that, it was an absolute pleasure to be involved in this initiative by KOHLER. It was truly an example that women working together can accomplish pretty much anything as was evident by the sheer scale of this event."
Commenting on the event, Mr Salil Sadanandan, President, Kitchen and Bath KOHLER Brand K&B S. Asia, Middle East & SSA at KOHLER Co. said,"KOHLER Bold Art is a truly unique platform for the Indian architecture community to share, discuss and debate their views on a topic. We are proud to celebrate some of the most creative women in Indian architecture in this women only event, on the occasion of International Women's Day."
