Kolkata hottest in West Bengal in absence of rainfall

Kolkata was the hottest place in Wes Bengal today with a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius as the city received little or no rainfall, the MeT Department said here.
The night temperature of the state capital was 28.7 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal.
The state received little or no rainfall in the last 24 hours, it said.
The weatherman has, however predicted a generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain for tomorrow in southern districts of the state including Kolkata.
For the sub-Himalayan districts, the forecast is of a few spells of rain or thundershowers.
