Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was present at the airport to see-off Konwar, who left for Delhi. Chief Secretary A K Sinha and state police chief Abhyanand were among the handful of officials present.
Konwar, who was made the Governor of Bihar in June 2009, has been transferred to Tripura in a reshuffle effected by President Pranab Mukherjee on March 9.
He is expected to take oath there on March 25, official sources said.
The Supreme Court has stayed the appointments.

Patil, who swapped places with Konwar as per the Presidential order, was received by Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi and a host of ministers and legislators at the airport this evening.
On his arrival, Patil while talking to reporters, extended greetings to people of the state.
He later garlanded the statue of Rajendra Prasad outside the Raj Bhavan.
