"Rawat is himself responsible for the fissures within the Congress in Uttarakhand. But he has been repeatedly blaming BJP leadership for the crisis. Not only that, he has dragged the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi into this.
"A canard is being spread about the role of BJP leaders in the crisis within the Congress. There cannot be a bigger lie than this," BJP MP from Nainital and former CM Bhagat Singh Koshiyari told reporters here.
Reminding Rawat that many senior Congress leaders had deserted the party when the leadership had become arrogant in 1975 and murdered democracy, he said Rawat should realise that the fire within his own organisation has destroyed his house and not any extraneous factor.
Justifying imposition of President's rule in Uttarakhand, Koshiyari said defeat of the appropriation bill in the state assembly which was declared passed by the Speaker had created a constitutional crisis in the state which warranted invocation of Article 356.
