President Ram Nath Kovind inaugurated renovated Presidential Guest House at the Raj Bhavan here on Saturday.
The president, on a two-day visit to Maharashtra, was accompanied by his wife Savita Kovind, Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and state minister Vinod Tawde.
According to an official statement, the guest house 'Jal Kiran' will serve as the accommodation for the president and the prime minister during visits to Mumbai.
Known as an annex to the adjoining Flagstaff Bungalow, 'Jal Kiran', which has a history of 150 years, was renovated and upgraded recently, the statement said.
Kovind also unveiled the plaque in front of restored and refurbished British-era twin cannons at the Raj Bhavan.
The cannons, each weighing 22 tonnes and belonging to the pre-World War I era, were discovered last year in a neglected state at the foothills of the Raj Bhavan.

The cannons, believed to have belonged to the battery near the coast as part of the defence of Bombay Castle during the colonial days, were spotted by Raj Bhavan staff during a tree plantation drive.
On November 3, 2018, in a 12-hour operation undertaken at the instance of governor Rao, cranes extricated the guns which were partially buried.
Earlier on Saturday, Kovind attended golden jubilee celebrations of the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Wardha in Vidarbha region of the state.
The President is scheduled to inaugurate the Bunker Museum at the Raj Bhavan on Sunday. The underground British- era bunker was discovered by Rao in August 2016, the statement said.
