The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee today flayed the CPI-M central committee's position of "no alliance, no understanding with Congress" to take on the BJP.
The KPCC in a resolution passed at the party executive meeting held here, termed as "historic blunder repeated by the CPI-M," the party Central Committee adopting a resolution that there was no need for an alliance or understanding with the Congress in its fight against BJP.
With this, the CPI-M has betrayed the secular and democratic forces that fight against the "fascist and communal elements," the resolution said.
The CPI(M)'s central committee had voted against general secretary Sitaram Yechury's draft resolution proposing an alliance with the Congress. It ruled out any form of electoral ties with the party.
The draft prepared by the Yechury-led faction, which had favoured adjustment with the Congress to stop the BJP, was defeated in voting by the Kerala delegation led by politburo member Prakash Karat.
The KPCC resolution also criticised the LDF government and said the ruling CPI-M was following the "new liberal financial policy" which it initiated at Nandigram and Singur in West Bengal.

The decision also once again proved that the stand of the marxist party which joined hands with Jana Sangh in 1977 and allied with the BJP through its support to V P Singh government in 1989, was in favour of "fascist forces," it said.
The KPCC criticised the manner in which the state government handled the rescue and relief operations carried out after the Ockhi cylone hit the state in November last.
It also flayed the move to withdraw the case against six LDF MLAs registered by the previous Congress-led UDF government in connection with the unruly incidents that happened in the assembly on March 13, 2015.
Former CPI-M MLA V Sivankutty had recently submitted a petition to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan seeking withdrawal of the case.
The assembly had witnessed unprecedented and ugly scenes when the LDF opposition members tried to prevent then Finance Minister K M Mani, who was facing allegations in the bar bribery scam, from presenting the budget.
Some opposition members had allegedly damaged the Speaker's podium, hurled his chair and engaged in a scuffle with the watch-and-ward staff.
Following the unruly happenings, a case was registered against six LDF mlas under provisions of the Prevention of Destruction of Public Property Act, criminal trespass and mischief causing damage.
