Relatives of the basketball player have claimed that Humphries, 28, is determined to get an annulment - rather than just a divorce - because the wedding was a cynical ploy to boost ratings of Kim's reality show 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians'.
Since Kim, 32, dumped the Brooklyn Nets star in October 2011 his family have kept a dignified silence.
But his aunt Dedria has now said, "It was a sham. My understanding of marriage is people are going to give it more than 72 days unless there's serious abuse."
If the marriage is annulled, Humphries could argue that the pre-nuptial agreement was not legitimate - and he would be freed from the confidentiality clause which prevents him from publicly shaming his ex-wife.
"An annulment says it wasn't valid in the first place. She should admit that it was a sham at the very least," said Dedria.
Dedria and her husband Mike were among 36 Humphries relatives who spent a fortune travelling across the US to attend the lavish wedding in Santa Barbara, California, which was followed by a honeymoon in Italy.
