Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Virinjipuram of TNAU wins National Award

The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Virinjpuram, of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University has won the 'Best Krishi Vigyan Kendra Award' from the Centre.
One among over 83 KVKs in the Southern Zone of India, Virinjipuram KVK in Vellore District has brought laurels for Tamil Nadu by bagging the zonal level Best KVK award 2016 instituted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research, a TNAU release said.
The award carrying a citation, a certificate and a cash prize of Rs. 2.25 lakh was handed over to KVK Programme Coordinator, Dr S Joshua Davidson by Union minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh, at the Krishi Unnati Fair, held recently in Delhi, a release said.
The award was in recognition of its contributions in the field of agricultural, horticulture, veterinary, and home science extension, it said.
