Krishna Kalle, Bhimabhau Sanghvikar win government cash awards

Maharashtra government announced here today that singer Krishna Kalle has been given the Lata Mangeshkar Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar for her achievements in music.
The award comprises a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh, a citation and a shawl.
Kalle has been an 'A' grade artiste with the All India Radio (AIR) since 1960 and has lent her voice to 200 Hindi and 100 Marathi movie songs. She has also sung non-movie songs.
It was also announced that the Vithabai Narayangaonkar Jeevan Gaurav Puraskar was awarded to senior folk (tamasha) artiste Bhimabhau Sanghvikar from Dhule district.
The award which comprises a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh has been given to him for his contribution to folk art over the last 40 years.
