In its final award today, which came almost three years after the interim award was announced, the tribunal sought to maintain a balancing act by giving four TMC of Karnataka water to Andhra Pradesh and at the same time recognising Karnataka's right to claim the remaining water before competing authority.
"We will go into the report in depth and decide on our next course of action" said Mohan Katarki, Karnataka's counsel in the tribunal.
Prior to that the allocation was 811 TMC for Andhra Pradesh, 734 TMC for Karnataka and 585 TMC for Maharashtra.
The Tribunal headed by Justice Brijesh Kumar had also allowed more water to be stored in the Almati Dam in Karnataka.
