KSCADC to implement projects worth Rs 70 crore for coastal

The Kerala State Coastal Area Development Corporation (KSCADC) has lined up 65 basic educational infrastructural projects worth Rs 70 crore in the state, State Minister for Fisheries, Ports and Excise K Babu said.
He was speaking after inaugurating the Rs 1.95 crore academic block at Dr VV Velukutty Arayan Memorial Government Regional Fisheries Technical and Vocational Higher Secondary School at nearby Karunagappally today.
"Five educational infrastructural development programmes worth Rs 7.11 crore will be implemented in Kollam," , he said.
Projects worth Rs 3.10 crore have already been completed out of the overall projects estimated at Rs 30.87 crore implemented by the KSCADC for the integrated development of coastal villages in Kollam.
Seven drinking water projects and six electrification projects are also being implemented.
The 816.60 square meter academic block is one of the initiatives of KSCADC's renovation programmes of the Government Fisheries Technical High schools.
While the ground floor in the new block has three class rooms, Chemistry craft and gear labs and an office room, the first floor has Botany, Zoology and Physics labs and a library. The old school building and hostel block have also been renovated.
