"KVI sector was not much affected by demonetisation. The departmental sales outlets were already carrying out digital sale. Almost 91 per cent retail sale is digital in our KVIC flagship store at New Delhi" KVIC CEO Usha Suresh told reporters here.
This is an effective way to develop a corruption free system, she claimed.
After demonetisation, the KVIC is organising various awareness programmes regarding benefits of cashless transactions, she added.
KVIC has taken initiative of extending helping hand to the rural artisans from remote corners of Maharashtra by organising 'Khadi Haat 2016' here, where a group of rural artisans across remote villages of Maharashtra are selling their traditional handmade goods.

"This kind of act of promoting rural artisans in urban market not only serves the cause of socio-economic unity of nation's creative diversity but spinning 'charkha' transforms lives and brings harmony in the life of the spinner," KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena said.
"Live example are the juvenile children who were provided training in spinning which has made them financially independent but has brought behavioural changes, making them responsible citizen", Saxena added.
