KVIC registration of institutions goes online

Marking the Gandhi Jayanti today, KVIC launched a portal for registration and certification of new khadi institutions, saying the entire process will now be completed within 40 days instead of up to 3 years earlier.
Also, the old 16-page application form has been reduced to just one.
The online portal "Khadi Institution Registration and Certification Sewa" (KRICS) was launched by Union Minister for MSME Kalraj Mishra at Khadi India outlet here.
Besides Mishra, Union Minister Giriraj Singh and Minister of State for Home, Haribhai Parthibhai Chaudhary was also present on the occasion.
On the occasion of birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, Giriraj Singh also launched Swachchh Bharat Campaign which will continue in all Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) offices across the country for seven days.
"The online registration of new khadi institution is necessary to plan, promote, facilitate, organise and assist in the establishment and development of khadi and village industries in rural areas," KVIC Chairman V K Saxena said in a statement.
He said the portal will help in promoting ease of business for MSME units.
New institutions would be able get their registration and certification within 40 days, after uploading the required documents, Saxena said, adding earlier this exercise was taking more than 3 years.
