Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has launched a toll free number for access to all sector-related programmes and information.

"With this, one can access all KVIC programmes by dialing 1800 3000 0034 and get information in Hindi or English language," the KVIC said in a statement on Saturday.

Currently, the services will be available between 8 am to 8 pm, six days a week.

KVIC's call centre contract has been awarded to a company from Rajasthan, which is a social enterprise working with people from smaller towns and rural areas, it said.

All enquiries about the commission's capacity building training programmes across India and will be managed by this single toll free number, it added.

"The call centre will capture information about the people who call in, and same database will be utilised for outreach to more people about other programmes of KVIC as well. This will provide more opportunities for people to access benefits of various initiatives taken by KVIC," KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena said.
