Godrej Appliances today flagged off its largest national consumer initiative, 'One Watt Campaign - Lets Save a Billion Watts'.

To start with, Godrej has tied up with Kings XI.

"As a gesture to support the cause, the players will wear a green cap during their match tomorrow against Kolkata Knight Riders. The campaign aims at spreading the message of conserving energy which is already scarce and impacts the environment adversely," according to George Menezes, COO, Godrej Appliances.

As part of the campaign, the One Watt Project vans will tour across the country covering major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai among others till May 14, he said in a release.

The vans will have an inbuilt kiosk for the general public to register their pledge to save energy and share it across social platforms.

The van would also aim to contact key corporates in select cities and urge them to come and pledge for energy saved by altering some of the ways in which they use electrical gadgets.
