The 26-year-old "Rack City" hitmaker ended his relationship with the 18-year-old "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star in May after the pair dated on-and-off for two years.
And in a new radio interview with Big Boy TV, Tyga said their love affair proved to be detrimental to his career, reported Contactmusic.
"Being in a very public relationship like that, it's hard for other people to see you differently. It overshadowed a lot of my talents and a lot of things I worked hard for."
Since splitting from Kylie, Tyga, whose real name is Micheal Ray Stevenson, has been romantically linked to lingerie model Demi Rose, who seems to be the spitting image of his ex-girlfriend.
"I'm single. I'm enjoying life," the musician said before hinting he and Kylie may give their romance another try in the future.
"Later on in life, maybe we (Kylie and I) might come back, but right now I want to focus on what I need to do.
