L&T wins Rs 802 cr contracts in power transmission

Infrastructure major Larsen & Toubro today said it has won power sector contracts worth Rs 802 crore in the domestic and international markets this month.
"The Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business of L&T Construction has won orders worth Rs 802 crore in the domestic and international markets in April 2015," the company said in a statement.
In the domestic market, the company bagged rural electrification projects under the Rajiv Gandhi Gramin Vidyutikaran Yojana schemes in Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal from Dakshinachal Vidyut Nigam Ltd and West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company, respectively, it said.
Additional order has been received from the solar business, it said.
On the international front, an order has been bagged from a private developer for engineering, procurement and construction of a 132/11kV substation in the Middle East, it said.
The PT&D business of L&T Construction is a major player in the field of transmission and distribution. It offers integrated solutions and end-to-end services in design, manufacturing, supply and commissioning of transmission line.
L&T stock closed at 1,654.80, down 0.63 per cent on the BSE.
