'La La Land' wins big at Critics Choice Awards

Damien Chazelle's "La La Land" starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling, bagged eight trophies including best picture, best director and best original song at the 22nd Annual Critics' Choice Awards.
Accepting the award on behalf of the production was Chazelle, who thanked the film's entire cast and crew for having faith in him, reported Entertainment Weekly.
"I want to thank my producers... For trying to make this movie for six years. Six years of what seemed like an impossible dream, an uphill climb, and you guys never lost faith. You always pushed me, I can't thank you guys enough," Chazelle said.

Moving to film's lead pair Stone and Gosling, Chazelle continued: Thank you for the months of rehearsal, learning, singing, dancing- Ryan learning piano, Emma doing her biggest numbers completely live - both of you giving more than I ever could have expected from actors and giving just the most transformative performances I've ever been lucky enough to film."
In other categories, Natalie Portman won Best Actress at for her starring role in "Jackie", Pablo Larrain's biopic of Jackie Kennedy Onassis, while Casey Affleck bagged Best Actor for "Manchester by the Sea".
"Moonlight" took home best supporting actor for Mahershala Ali, as well as best acting ensemble.

Eric Heisserer won best adapted screenplay for "Arrival".

On the television front, Bob Odenkirk won best actor in a dramatic series for "Better Call Saul", "The People Vs O J Simpson" won four times, including acting prizes for Sarah Paulson and Courtney B Vance and Donald Glover won for best actor in a comedy series.
"Game of Thrones" won the trophy for Best Drama Series, which marks the second win and sixth nomination for the hit HBO series.
"Outlander" was named the most bingeworthy show.
