The accused, identified as Harender (40) has been arrested by the police after a case of molestation and various sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered against him at Rohini (South) police station.
According to police, the incident came to light on Wednesday morning when the victim, a class III student, revealed her ordeal to her parents who then approached police.
"The girl was not going to school for the past few weeks making one excuse or the other. When she again refused to go to school on Wednesday morning, her parents took her into confidence and asked her to reveal what was wrong. She finally broke down and revealed that the lab technician had molested her at least three-four times in the recent past," said a senior police official.
Police then registered a complaint on the basis of the victim's statement and took her to the school where she identified Harender.
He was then arrested and produced before a local court which sent it to 14-days' judicial custody.
The accused has also been suspended by the school management.
