The conference will seek to carry forward deliberations on industrial harmony especially as the Labour Ministry has appealed for maintaining continuous dialogue between employers and workers union with emphasis on zero violence at any cost, a Ministry official said.
In earlier meetings, representatives of workers and employers organisations have expressed views on maintaining industrial peace, harmony and worker-related issues like payment of minimum wages but the achievement has been far from satisfactory, he said.
"The Labour Minister had also written to all the state Labour Ministers for ensuring necessary follow up action for proper implementation of labour laws, the actions of which would be deliberated upon at the conference," he said.
The conference can also suggest ways for reducing inter-state disparity in minimum wages as the disparities have not been solved despite efforts.
The official said the issue of uniform wage was recently taken up by the members of the Consultative Committee attached to the Ministry. It was also raised in the 44th Indian Labour Conference and in various tripartite fora. MORE
