This quarterly expenditure of Rs 195.94 crore works out to 2.66 per cent of the total annual estimate of Rs 7,378.38 crore for 2017-18.
"Against the projected estimate of Rs 481.43 crore (6.52 per cent of budgeted estimate 2017-18), the expenditure incurred in the first three months of the current financial year is Rs 195.94 crore against the total budget provision," according to the labour ministry quarterly report for 2017-18.
On yearly basis, the April-June 2017 expenditure also lags behind the last fiscal's first quarter expenditure.
So, Rs 195.94 crore spent during April-June of 2017-18 is a rise of 13.37 per cent in overall expenditure against the same period of the previous fiscal, the ministry said.

The data showed Rs 195.81 crore was spent as revenue head while Rs 13 lakh (Rs 0.13 crore) as capital expenditure.
Beginning this fiscal, plan and non-plan expenditure has been merged.
Publication of the data is to present the integrated and comprehensive picture of its finances after closure of the first quarter of this financial year as also expenditure analysis of previous financial years, the labour ministry said.
Total plan and non-plan expenditure in 2016-17 stood at Rs 5,313.33 crore, Rs 4,832.01 crore (2015-16), Rs 4,320.66 crore (2014-15), Rs 4,415.68 crore (2013-14) and Rs 3,833.20 crore (2012-13).
