Labourer dies after falling from 9th floor, supervisor held

A 22-year-old labourer died here after he allegedly slipped from the ninth floor of an under-construction building in Vrindavan, police said today.
Devendra fell from the ninth floor of the building yesterday while working. He was treated at local level and then rushed to a trauma centre in Kosi Kalan, where he was declared brought dead, station in-charge Uday Pratap Singh Malik said.
Devendra was working with Giriraj construction group for past 4 months. No safety equipment was found with the labourers working at the site, Malik said.
Police have arrested the supervisor of the construction group for negligence and are interrogating him.
"The MD of the company is not in town right now, hence, we could not talk to him," he added.
The body has been handed over to the family after post mortem.
